Hess Reporting Wells With Halo Effect? November 26, 2021

Updates

November 27, 2021: see comments. A reader cites a source saying these wells were re-fracked. I assumed they were; when the "jump" is this huge, it's "always" due to a re-frack.

Original Post

Alkali Creek is well known for wells with "halo effect," but this is unusual for Hess, reporting wells with "halo effect."

This well, huge increase in production:

  1. Your post on the CLR Tangsrud well caught my attention, as that is near where our mineral acres are located. If you remember, the Tangsrud wells were a big test plot for Continental where they drilled all the zones... This is a 3rd bench 3 Forks well. They gave it a good chance to show what it could do, but maybe just not feasable...? Also this is way north of the sweet spot in the Bakken. I don't know if they will drill up this far unless crude prices reach a certain point... I've been watching this carefully, some of the best wells up here are 3 Forks... interesting to see how things will go....

    1. I was going to take a better look at the Tangsrud wells when the most recent one was in "the news" this week but I lost a bit of interest when another reader suggested not much to report. Maybe I'll take another look. We'll see. Continental Resources would have learned a lot just by drilling the wells.
