Reason #34 Why I Love To Blog
It was pure happenstance that I started to "follow" semiconductors. I became very, very interested when Apple announced the M1 chip.
From there, the story snowballed.
Within weeks, we learned, and reported on the blog, that there were indications of a growing global shortage of chips.
Tonight we learn that Toyota has halted production in China due to a global semiconductor shortage. From the report, "there have been warning signs about this for month."

I never cared for Nick Saban, although of course there was no basis for that. Just pure (and inappropriate) emotion on my part.
I'm watching the game tonight, a replay of last night's game.
Based on what sportscasters were saying about him tonight I have an incredible amount of respect for him. I'll leave it at that.

Well, Nick Saban is a great coach and has been for years. However, all in all, it is just a game. Hard to see why this occurs so frequently in college football... According to a USA Today report that was released on Wednesday morning, University of Alabama coach Nick Saban is once again college football's highest-paid coach with a salary of $9.3 million. Saban made $8.7 million in compensation in 2019.Oct 14, 2020. Didn't save a single life, as best I can discern....
ReplyDeleteYes, that's the only downside -- the obnoxious salaries these coaches (and professional players) command. But it is what it is.
ReplyDelete"It is what it is". A sad commentary of the times, but you are right. I reflect upon all the high paying occupations/professions that actually contribute very little to the betterment of mankind, and..... well, it is enough to make one a cynic. But, as always, HOPE SPRINGS ETERNAL!
