  1. I'm curious; how do you get this information? It is not on my basic service. It is like sneaking a peek at Christmas presents before the day....

    1. 1. I use "search" function at this site to find the wells coming off confidential list at this site (free): https://www.dmr.nd.gov/oilgas/confidential.asp.

      2. Then with a Basic Services subscription ($50/annual) I look up the scout tickets.

    1. The biggest trick was using the "search" function to find wells coming off the confidential list.

  3. I have the basic service. I'm just surprised that they actually publish production on wells that are still Confidential. I'd never noticed this before. Like #37322 doesn't show anything under Scout tickets; however, it does show up on basic/well production. Interesting~ Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.

    1. Yes, that's an interesting bit of regulatory transparency and it makes sense. Even if the well is still on confidential status, if the operator is producing oil AND selling it, the amount sold (RUNS) must be reported to the state. The actual production number is still confidnential.

But it makes sense. A mineral owner, such as the state of North Dakota, wants to know if (and how much oil) is actually being sold on a monthly basis even if the well is on confidential status. So, you are seeing amount of oil sold if a well is on confidential list but you don't know how many days the well was on-line. Generally, the first month the well might be on line for only a few days.

North Dakota must be the most transparent state there is when it comes to oil reporting.

  4. Well now... (bad pun), I've had a couple of wells on my watch list for March reporting. Now you're telling me I just might get a sneak-peek in January or so.. So much for "Anticipation"..https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4NwP3wes4M8

    2. Ahhh, 'tis humbling when you are so far ahead of us old folk! But now that I know how to check out this stuff, I just might have to create a blog... NOT!
Keep up the excellent job you do. I'm afraid I couldn't compete on the quality of the product nor the price.... "Too soon old, too late smart!"
      And so it goes.

    3. Thank you for the kind words. One really needs to thank the NDIC posting this information in a timely fashion -- most of it for free. And it is incredibly user-friendly. The Director's Cut should be posted this week.
