Notes From All Over, Part 1 -- September 5, 2019

Bahamas refinery: minimal damage despite Dorian. Buckeye Bahamas Hub appears to have sustained no significant damage.

Permian: shipping capacity continues to grow. NuStar has completed three key pipeline porjects; will move crude oil from the Permian Basin and move refined products into northern Mexico --
  • 8-mile connection to the Plains Cactus II, to NuStar's terminal in Corpus Christi; NuStar wil add 600,000 bbls of new storage there by December, 2019
  • an expanded Valley Pipeline System in south Texas; can now carry 90,000 bpd rather than the previous 45,000 bpd; refined products from Corpus Christi to the Rio Grande Valley and northern Mexico
  • reactivation of an 11-mile pipeline linking terminals at Laredo, TX, to Nuevo Laredo, Mexco, in conjunction with a contract NuStar has with Valero
  • making Texas great
Flaring: Permian flaring drops for first time since 2017.
