Bowline Oil Field

Early on (over two years ago, April 14, 2011) I talked about True Oil and Red Wing Creek oil field. I learned a lot from readers. 

After that initial post, there wasn't much written about True Oil, but recently True Oil is back in the news, acquiring leases and permits in Bowline oil field. Bowline is a 14-section field, L-shaped, and southeast/abutting Red Wing Creek. It's hard to believe that there are NO producing wells in seven of those 14 sections; and in four of those sections, a well has never even been drilled. There have been at least two dry holes: one Madison, and one Red River (both drilled a long, long time ago). The field is in central McKenzie County, a bit outside the typical sweet spots in northeastern McKenzie County.

It is amazing how quickly things can move once an operator gets excited to start developing a field.
