Time For A New Poll -- Goin' Fishin' -- Unable To Access Parts of The NDIC Website

Good luck to all. See you tomorrow. Maybe.

A reminder: the top 47 producing wells in North Dakota -- for the month of January, 2013. This is just the single month production for these 47 wells. Posted by request.

President Obama reiterates that he will transfer oil wealth for more Solyndra-like projectsThe Oil & Gas Journal is reporting:
Technological breakthroughs in the last few years have significantly improved the US energy situation, but more needs to be done, US President Barack Obama said on March 15. He specifically called for creation of an Energy Security Trust  to develop and deploy transportation alternatives that would be funded by federal crude oil leasing revenue.
Time For A New Poll

The results of the current poll: will White House tours resume by the end of the summer?
  • Yes: 67%
  • No: 33%
Now, for the new poll.

President Obama has reiterated that he will fund a new Energy Security Trust with federal crude oil leasing revenue. Because the increase of oil production from federal lands is lagging compared to what the states are doing,  the funding might be limited. To increase the funding, would you be in favor of transferring some of your mineral royalties from the state to help fund this new trust, so that your grandchildren would be assured of adequate energy?

Would you support transferring some of your royalty money, regardless of the source, to the new Energy Security Trust?

    1. Thank you. The third article is the most interesting; one can get entire article without a subscription at:

      http://finance.yahoo.com/news/norstra-enters-bakken-oil-boom-121926496.html

I will post as a stand-alone when I get access to NDIC again. Hopefully tomorrow. Maybe tonight. We'll see.

    2. The Norstra article is about the "New Alberta Fairway" in far western Montana, nowhere near the Williston Basin Bakken:

"A large blanket deposit covering hundreds of square miles is present and is currently being developed by over 200 drilling rigs in the Williston Basin of Montana and North Dakota. The Bakken Fairway in Northwest Montana, where the South Sun River Prospect is located, is very similar in geology and in log comparisons. Resistivity on logs, regional isopach maps of Bakken maturity, and the extensive existing seismic data guides the drill site selection for development of the project. The Company believes that the South Sun River Bakken Prospect is well within the maturity window and oil is confirmed with the offsetting Krone well that is just over 1 mile away that was drilled by Shell Oil Co. in the past while they were looking for deeper oil targets."

I don't know about you, but to talk about 200 rigs in the Williston Basin and then slide into their prospect in far western Montana in the same paragraph is somewhat misleading. But if that area pans out, it will be quite an opportunity for this company.

  2. That must be the Alberta Bakken.

Different. Like Spam is different from spam.

    1. You are exactly correct. It was nice to get the article; it's been a long time since I've update the "Alberta Bakken" at the sidebar at the right.

      Thank you for sending it.

Can't have just a yes or no poll on a issue such as this.

Not a chance in hell. They would use the money on something similar to a new Solyndra. Everyone knows this would be a sham. The money would surely be squandered.

Energy Security Trust? Are you kidding? Meanwhile the Chinese are buying up some of the acreages in our countries energy producing regions.

We all know how the government runs everything. Just look at the post office for starters.

What happened to logic? 1+1 now equals whatever you want and that's OK.

    1. I was going to add that as a third choice, "not a chance in hell" but I didn't want to influence the voting.

Thanks for saying it better than I could have.

    1. I can't access any of the data bases (9:56 pm CDT) either. I can get the home page which is more than I got earlier. But the site is still down. Hopefully it will come back up sometime during the night.
