WAWS Water At 13-Mile Corner

CRC provided the link.

Great story. KFYR out of Bismarck reporting:
The demand for water is bigger than ever in western North Dakota, as residential and industrial growth continues to flourish. Thanks to some unique water depots, help is officially on the way. These depots are part of the Western Area Water Supply Project being installed throughout the western half of the state. Unlike most state-run projects, this one is being paid for by the oil industry.

Water is for sale at the 13 Mile Corner and area truckers couldn't be happier.

"Oh this is extremely helpful having this here, it really shortens the distance us truck drivers have to go for water and it makes our turnaround so much faster," said truck driver Rick Ingraham.

This is a very big story; lots of implications. Key phrase in the article: "state-of-the-art" water depots.

This really was my favorite album at the time it came out:

  1. Water.

    Drinking

    frack flow back

    produced

    flood

    other sewage and waste water

Lots of water to deal with.

A couple of public oil field water disposal companies:

    Heckmann

GreenHunter (Related to the Magnum Hunter family.)

    Both in the Bakken.

I listened to the GRH audio yesterday. Interesting business, and history, evolving from failed "green" energy fiascos to water.

And, news with interesting, often mind boggling comments.

    1. The "wah-wah" video seems most relevant when you list all those "water issues."

  3. The company I work for own two water depots seven miles away paid for by private money. This depot threatens private investment. My company has also built three other private depots in that area.We also know if two others we did not build.

There is no shortage of water at thirteen mile corner.

Wawsa is taking food out of the mouth of many families.

    1. Were any of the private companies putting anything back into the community? WAWS is providing more than fracking water.

  4. My company employees 125 people. The others in the areas employ more.

Local farmer and rancher owners receive royalty payments for water sold.

Private water sellers were here at the start of the bakken and have made it all happen.

Other entire companies are also supplying frac water. They also employ hundreds of people.

Yes I think we put plenty of money back into the community.

Wawsa has been built with complete disregard of our existing investments. I don't think the citizens of the state would be as accepting of the government building a grocery store right next to the locally grown owned grocery store.
