Corporate Updates -- Links

Don sent me the latest PDFs/webcasts/etc. I haven't looked at them. Will post them now for later review. (I don't even know if the links will work; if not, let me know, and I will see if I can fix them.)

By the way, I hear the UN voted statehood status for Palestine. I was out bicycling and missed the news. Does anyone know how Ms Rice voted?

  1. Rice voted against it.

"The resolution upgrading the Palestinians' status to a nonmember observer state at the U.N. was approved by a vote of 138-9, with 41 abstentions, in the 193-member world body.

The United States immediately criticized the historic vote. "Today's unfortunate and counterproductive resolution places further obstacles in the path peace," U.N. Ambassador Susan Rice said. U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton called the vote "unfortunate" and "counterproductive."

The United States and Israel voted against recognition, joined by Canada, the Czech Republic, the Marshall Islands, Micronesia, Nauru, Palau and Panama."

    1. I am happy to see Canada voted with the US, as well as the Czech Republic. (I have fond memories of colleagues from the Czech Republic during my time in the USAF, particularly during Air War College.)

I do believe membership on the UN Security Council has permanent members, and rotating members. It will be another theatrical event when it is Palestine's turn on the Security Council.

I'm glad to see Germany's past didn't interfere with how its ambassador voted.
