  1. Bruce, what's your take on the Blue Buttes field? Hess wells off-confidential since spring this year (Jan-Apr) are MONSTERS! What's your professional opinion of Blue Buttes?

    1. I just happened to mention Blue Buttes in the last post, as a side note.

In the sidebar at the right, one of the fields I highlight is Blue Buttes:

      http://www.milliondollarwayblog.com/2010/11/nice-xto-well-in-blue-buttes-field.html

It's a great field; right in the heart of the Bakken; it's a long field, north to south, so I don't know if some parts of the field are better than others; Helis had some acreage in Blue Buttes (Helis acreage bought by QEP in a $30,000/acre deal, or in that neighborhood).

So, Blue Buttes is going to be a great field. I haven't updated all the data on Blue Buttes because I've been traveling, but eventually I will get 'r done.

  2. I noticed on the ND oil and gas sight that Liberty sold oil for the month of June on a well in the Tyrone field. The well is in sec. 10 156N 101W it sold 17,580 barrels They did not put days of runs or any other information. I did here the well in sec. 10 had an IP of 3400 barrels on the last day of May so I went back to the ND oil and gas web sight and found that Liberty had sold 3,400 barrols for that well in May.This wells does not come off the confidential list until Nov. 27th. Not sure if it is even fracked yet. It seems to be a nice well for that area. Not sure if liberty just got lucky or if they are that good. Time will tell.

  3. Liberty Resources has five wells in Tyrone Field.

They have two sited on the same pad in section 15. One will run north, and one will run south.

22067, Sylte 156-101-10-3-1H (will run north through sections 10 and 3); probably the one you are talking about
22068, Sylte 256-101-15-22-1H (will run south through sections 15 and 22)

The other three Liberty wells in this township are in sections 1, 9, and 36.

You are correct; they are on the confidential list and runs are not yet shown.

Liberty Resources is an interesting company; a new company.

    I blogged about them here:

  4. Very interesting story of a land man who has accumulated 300,000 acres of mineral rights in North Dakota.
