This post will be removed later today, so if you want it, copy and paste the link.

Update: it turns out this is more popular than I expected, and I will keep this link, and give it a tag.

  2. OK, I will keep it. It will be linked, and I will add a tag, so it can easily be found again.

  3. I love your Bakken information---do not find the link objective. I was hoping your impulse to post political commentary would stop. How can we work together instead of being so negative. Being part of the party of NO is easy. Promoting positive ideas and cooperation seems not part of your agenda. dholmen

  4. When I see hypocrisy it is very difficult not to point it out (knowing very well that no one has a monopoly on hypocrisy). It is easy to find issues where I have been inconsistent.

In the energy arena, I have significant problems with a) the "lost decade" (focus on renewable energy when it was clear that the full story was not being told to the American public); b) the "global warming" scam which in 1993 we were told we only had ten years to act before the earth was doomed (and nothing has been accomplished to date with regard to "cap and trade"); c) ethanol (where it takes more energy to make ethanol than it actually provides); and, d) electric (coal-powered) vehicles.

As far as shutting down the domestic oil industry, "it is what it is," and investors in energy, understand that.

In my mind there is nothing partisan about that.

JRR Tolkien ("Lord of the Rings") said we all have our myths. The issues above are my myths.

  6. Thank you for your support. I do not want to stray too far from the original purpose of the blog -- education about the Bakken and the North Dakota oil industry, but occasionally my biases come through.
