Here It Comes: New York State To Place Moratorium on Hydraulic Fracking

Just a matter of time. This gives the EPA the green light to do the same.

Here's the link.

In the meantime, hopefully, they will move those fracking crews to North Dakota and not send them back to New York.

Anything to destroy the domestic oil and gas industry.

  1. hopefully , when they move them to ND , even if NY gives them the green light to frac again they will stay where they are . Poof , 5000 jobs , tax revenue ,royalties magically down the drain . the antibusiness climate in this country is amazing . appreciate your blog .jj

  2. Thank you for you kind words and support. I always worry when I touch on political issues, or stray from the Bakken.

I agree with you completely, all of your points. I do think the NY frack crews will move, at least temporarily (they need to feed their families also) but Texas probably looks nice this time of year (Eagle Ford south of San Antonio).

  3. the real problem in the ND oil industry as i see it from the perspective of a ND resident is Housing.. The State and cities must do all they can to help/ or at least not hinder the building/placement of housing in the western half of the state. living in Bowman in the Sw there are only 2 rigs working now, but i know many people who live here that work up north in Nd. on for a 7/12 hrs shift then off and come back south for a week. no rooms, no space in a local diner, road are crowed, by most standards..The state goverment meets in Jan and these are some of the issues that need to be addressed, if they want the Bakken to grow and thrive. 4. The problem with so much of this is the uncertainty. People are just getting used to the idea that the Bakken will be around for 30 years if market forces allowed to work; now, the uncertainty in form of more regulations scares folks; regulations that could thwart full development of the Bakken.
