Crazy Numbers, Part 2

These are some more incredible numbers coming out of the Bakken, brought to my attention by "bradaz" over on the Bakken Shale Discussion Group thread. I highly encourage you to bookmark that site; they have an incredible amount of information over there.

Bradaz updates some incredible wells.

February production numbers from the North Dakota Industrial Commission reveals four (4) wells that have produced 500,000 barrels of oil in a shorter time period than the Austin 6-15H.

At $40/bbl, 500K = $20 million; at $80/bbl, $40 million at the wellhead. (I have to keep checking the number of zeroes.)

A little background: there's been some side bets on which well is better, the Austin 6-15H or the Chandler James. Right now, it appears the Austin 6-15H is the one to beat, and that's why the interest in the four wells that produced 500K bbls of oil in a shorter time period than the Austin 6-15H.

According to the NDIC:
The Behr 11-34H, 17092, t6/08; produced 500,725 bbls in 591 days; as of 5/13 -- 919K
The Austin 21-28H, 17227, t8/08,  produced 504,554 bbls in 517 days; as of 5/13 -- 860K
The Austin 18-21H, 17222,  s6/08, produced 514,353 bbls in 522 days; as of 5/13 -- 797K
The Chandler James 25-36H, 17263,  s7/08, produced 500,234 bbls in 484 days; as of 5/13 -- 944K; no pump
Further analysis:
Prorating February production, the Behr 34 did it in 590 days; the Austin 28 in 514 days; and the Austin 21 in 501 days.

The Austin 28 is now producing over 1,000 bbls/day after a submersible pump was placed in December.

The Chandler James and the Behr wells are still flowing without a pump.

The PetroHunt USA 2D is now at 933,366 bbls with 586 bbls/day in January and will likely pass one (1) million barrel mark in four (4) years of production in September.
