Apple is known for charging customers a very high markup for additional storage when buying a new Mac. Given that internal storage usually can't be upgraded after purchase, it's no wonder that external drives are a popular solution for many Mac users who want the extra space but don't want to pay a premium for the privilege.

Until recently, macOS automatically installed new apps downloaded from the Mac App Store to a Mac's boot drive, which was not particularly helpful to users with dwindling internal storage.

In macOS Sequoia 15.1, however, Apple has added a new option that lets you download and install apps that require more than 1GB of storage to an external drive. Anyone working with large apps like Final Cut Pro or Logic Pro, or gamers with space-consuming titles, will surely welcome this ability to download and install large apps to a separate disk.

Ukraine: Biden's decision to allow US missiles to be launched into Russia by Zelensky apparently is not being well-received by the Russians. This is a huge escalation with which Trump will face. This is Biden's last hurrah; will it be the Ukraine's last hurrah? I'm sort of reminded of the Afghan exit debacle.

In addition to his four adult children, he has a very young, active vice president. Trump knows the clock starts ticking January 20th, 2025, and he can't run for a second term. This is it.

RBN Energy: Southern Spirit aims to bolster ERCOT power grid while preserving its independence.

If all goes to plan, Texas’s isolated power grid will one day be connected to a pair of neighboring states via a massive transmission line called Southern Spirit. The project is designed to increase grid reliability, reduce blackouts and drive down energy bills, but it could be years before it becomes a reality. And while the transmission line will connect Texas with Louisiana and Mississippi, it is more akin to a drawbridge that can be raised or lowered as needed without subjecting the Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT) grid to federal oversight. In today’s RBN blog, we’ll discuss what the Southern Spirit transmission line would mean for Texas.
