A 40-Year Old Madison Well On Indian Hill Approaching 500K Bbls Crude Oil Cumulative -- March 23, 2024

Locator: 46834B.

Growing up in Williston, Dad often took us south of Williston to go running up Indian Hill. The longer it's been since Dad passed away, the more I miss him, and all the great memories. I doubt we ever thanked Mom and Dad enough for all they did for us.

But I digress.

What's going on, today, on Indian Hill?

Glad you asked. A 40-year well, link here.

Rate Cut -- March 23, 2024

Locator: 46833FED.

CNBC analysts based on JPow's comments: three more rate cuts this year (by the way, JPow did not say that at all; he said something completely different if folks were truly listening).

Raphael Bostic: one rate cut this year.

Me? No more rates before November, 2024.

Rig Counts? No Longer Matter (Don't Take That Out Of Context) -- March 23, 2024

Locator: 46832RIGS.

My response:

A recurring "theme" on the blog: rig counts no longer matter (don't take that out of context).

Is there any relationship between rig count and oil production any more -- at least in the shale patch?

What matters? Efficiency. Effectiveness. Cost to frack.
