Ohtani strikes out Mike Trout and makes it a Japanese win. Epic. A classic in every sense.
Wow! I'm in a great mood.
Sophia just played her first-ever club soccer game. Of the twenty-four players on the two teams, Sophia was the most talented, and the most energetic. She scored the the tying goal, ending the game at 2 - 2. She would have had the winning goal, making it 3 - 2, but she purposely did not take the shot because she thought she was off side. She says from now on, she will take those shots and let the referees make the call.
Sophia says she has no plans to continue with soccer after this season (her first and last); she wants to devote all "sports time" to Brazilian jiu-jitsu. She agreed to one season of soccer to "humor" her dad.
By the way, I broke my left great toe four days ago "playing" soccer with Sophia. More on that later, perhaps.
The weather is starting to "turn" in north Texas; one day closer to swimming.
I'm back to reading. I renewed by subscription to The New Yorker.
And I've just subscribed to the Atlantic Magazine.
That brings me to three periodicals, the third being Science.
The best thing about a subscription to periodicals: one gets access to the entire digital library.
Editor's pick, The Atlantic, among the eight or so, I look forward to reading these two:
- "This is not great news for Donald Trump: despite what some Republicans are saying, getting indicted is generally a poor political strategy."
- "Nobody likes Mike Pence: in focus groups, Republican voters are brutal in their assessment of the former vice president."
I'm also looking forward to this one:
- "There's no such thing as free will."
And:
- "Why everything is getting louder: the tech industry is producing a rising din. Our bodies can't adapt."
I’ve just added The Atlantic app to my iPhone.
By the way, what did "oil" do today? WTI trending toward $70.
One day closer to WTI-Brent:
In, July, 2023, global traders will still have WTI and Brent. Me? As of July 1, 2023, we will have WTI and WTIBrent.
