Deer Season Opens This Friday In North Dakota -- November 5, 2018

From The Bismarck Tribune:
North Dakota’s 16.5-day deer gun season opens at noon Friday, with 55,150 licenses allocated.
A modest increase in licenses continues a trend from the past three years, according to Jeb Williams, chief of the state Game and Fish Department’s Wildlife Division.
Anecdotal data and field reports suggest deer reproduction was good this year in the Bismarck-Mandan area, he said.

Metrics: reminder -- I forget where I saw it -- it might have been the CLR earnings call -- oil industry looking for better metric than number of rigs to track the tight oil industry. I think the issue may have been raised when CLR mentioned it was adding two rigs to the Bakken. The analysts need numbers. Maybe the number of DUCs will be the better metric? I don't know.

DUCs

Until the Bakken revolution, had we ever heard of DUCs in the oil sector? I think not. The blog was among the first to note the importance / impact of the DUCs.

From twitter:

Now, I'm just waiting for interest in the "halo effect," or the "Bakken phenomenon," or whatever it ends up being called. Don't expect to see that until we see 32,000 Bakken wells -- we're at 16,000 right now -- yes, it might take that long.
