Tesla Underperforms By A Wide, Wide Margin -- But Elon Is Still Excited About His Pick-Up Truck, Expecting To Outsell Ford F-Series -- January 4, 2018

Link here. Wow, it's worse than originally reported. Tesla delivered only 1,060 vehicles in December, 2017. The original Elon Musk forecast was for 15,000 vehicles/month by the end of 2017. Everyone knew that was not going to happen, but most expected much better than 5,000 Model 3 vehicles/month by the end of 2017. When rumors started floating that maybe only 2,250 Model 3 vehicles were delivered, there was a bit of disbelief. But at 1,060 -- well, what can one say?

I've long forgotten but does Tesla have 100,000 pre-orders for the Model S? At 5,000 Model S vehicles / month, some customers won't see their Teslas until late 2019 or maybe even early 2020. By that time, the Model S is about five years old in styling.
