Huge Production Jump For #23279 -- July 18, 2017

Updates

October 2, 2017: not re-fracked based on data from FracFocus; it looks like newer wells have been fracked; it appears all the Anna wells are on-line and producing.

August 19, 2017: high production sustained; most recent five or six months. No data at FracFocus to suggest this well was re-fracked. In one month, this well has produced what it was producing in one year:

Among things to follow up, I posted this back on February 15, 2017:
February 15, 2017: CLR's Anna well pad; a reader asked about them; reader thinks he's not getting full answers from CLR; all wells are SI/NC, but sundry form suggests CLR planned to complete them 1/17, but no evidence yet that is occurring. #30157, #30156, #30155, #30154, #32969, #32968, #32967, #32966. Watch for #23279 coming off-line -- that will be hint that wells are about to be fracked. [Update, #23279 came off-line 1/17.][Update, #23279 back on-line; other wells have been fracked. See this link.] Check in a few months to see if production changed for #23279.
I wanted to see if production changed for #23279.

Wow, did it ever. Look at this production jump:

Obviously it was fracked (?), but a) no sundry from yet to confirm the frack; and, b) nothing over at FracFocus to verify that it was fracked. So we will see.

I Would Have Been Surprised Had This Not Been In Texas -- July 18, 2017

Prosper High School, Texas, will build a $48 million mega-stadium that features a banquet hall suite.

Story at Sportsday.com.
We knew Prosper ISD was going to get a new football stadium, and now we know what it will look like.
PISD announced that the design of the new stadium, which will actually be a stadium/natatorium complex, has been completed. The stadium will have a 12,000-seat capacity, and according to PISD, will serve all of the district's high schools going forward.
For those who didn't know that Prosper wasn't going to remain a one-high school district, there's a bit of news for you.
The second Prosper high school isn't scheduled to open until 2020, but the current high school's enrollment has increased considerably.
You might remember that Prosper was the 3A Division I state champion in 2008 and was once a rival of Celina (now in 4A). Prosper had a UIL-reported enrollment of 2,110 in the fall of 2015, and it's now one of the state's largest 5A schools.
It's pretty much a no-doubter that Prosper will bounce into 6A for the 2018-2020 alignment.According to Prosper ISD, the stadium project will be funded from a $710 million bond issue passed nearly 10 years and will have an approximate cost of $48 million. That's less than Allen's Eagle Stadium ($60 million, opened in 2012) and McKinney's new $70 million stadium that is under construction.
Prosper ISD mentions that in information about its stadium on the district web site:
Prosper ISD continues to grow about 100% every five years and is one the top five fastest growing school districts in the state of Texas out of 1,100+ school districts. We have designed a facility that will meet the needs of PISD for many years to come while engineering it in a way that comes in at price tag $15-20+ million less expensive than recent similar projects in the metroplex and across the state.
Prosper is in the same area as McKinney, Plano, Frisco, all north of DFW/Dallas.

Flashback -- Even The Analysts Can Get It Wrong -- July 18, 2017

Flashback. Remember this? From January 9, 2015:
From Rigzone, John Kemp: Bakken oil producers need $55 to keep production steady.
North Dakota needs an oil price of around $55 per barrel at the wellhead and a fleet of about 140 rigs to sustain production at the current level of 1.2 million barrels per day, the U.S. state's chief regulator told legislators on Thursday.
Down to 50 rigs and still producing more than 1 million bopd with 850 DUC and 1,500 producing wells taken off-line. And Bakken oil is selling for about $35/bbl.

In Less Than Five Years, The US Could Produce 40% Of The World's Total Natural Gas -- July 18, 2017

Over at "The Big Stories," I have a link to the "North American Energy Revolution," but I have never had anything there linking to a Mexican story. Now we do. From the Oil & Gas Journal, DOE and IEA now see Mexico's global energy role growing rapidly.
IEA expects the US shale revolution to get a second wind and increase its gas production to 40% of the world’s total by 2022. IEA also projects that the US will become one of the world’s three largest LNG exporters—alongside Australia and Qatar—and give LNG a majority share of the global gas market for the first time by 2040.
“North America is entering a golden age of energy prosperity,” said [EIA], adding that Mexico looks as if could be more than a junior partner. The country is on track to become a full IEA member by year-end, he said.
Update: three countries mentioned in this article on natural gas -- the US; Qatar; and, Australia. What major country with huge NG stores was not mentioned? Wow.

Why I Love To Blog -- One Never Knows What One Is Going To Find -- July 19, 2017

Wow, wow, wow -- one may want to re-read this post.
Enhanced oil recovery from unconventional formations has been sought since unconventional development first began.
While recovery factors in conventional reservoirs commonly exceed 25%, unconventional development seldom recovers more than 9%.
There is, therefore, a tremendous amount of oil and gas still in place in unconventional fields, waiting to be recovered.
I've only posted the most recent data from the production profile of this well, but take a look. Maybe I will come back to it later.

I thought of that when I saw the lead story over at the Los Angeles Times today.
