It only took a year.

CBS is reporting: $5.00 gasoline "returns" to the Southland. Predictable.

  1. Varney ( on fox business news ) this morning with Eric Bolling were discussing this event .. Eric indicated that the XL pipeline oil , if/when it flows would Reeduce the ZNeed for Venezuelian oil by 60 %.. on that ratio the oil prices above would drop to Approx $ 84 as a blended average

    1. Thank you. It took me a year to figure this out; I'm a slow learner.

But it truly is appalling: Canadian oil for $60/bbl for refineries that use heavy oil; and instead, $120/bbl for Venezuela oil. And, so now, the numbers suggest we could get to $84/bbl. Wow.

Two years ago, and as recently as a year ago, I really didn't care one way or the other about the Keystone, except as political commentary, but now we see the consequences of poor decision-making, and ideology.

Of course, high crude oil prices will make wind and solar energy more competitive, so perhaps the new administration is using the same play book as the first administration.

  2. It is hard to believe our government does such destructive things to inhibit our full development of energy. Then gos and imports heavy sour crude from Venezuela while giving a cold shoulder to our allied next door neighbor Canada? Does this administration have an infatuation with despots of the world that despise the US? It sure looks likes it. By the way is old Hugo Chavez still around or is he in some state of oblivion?

The globalist mindset has a powerful hold on this administration. What is best for the United Stated is often runs counter to the globalist mindset. I'm afraid the leadership in this country is very conflicted in this regards.

    1. As I noted elsewhere, I'm a slow learner, but through the RBN Energy posts, and information elsewhere, it's become very clear. Western Canadian Sands from a friendly neighbor for $60/bbl vs $120/bbl crude from OPEC.
